Join Our Book Study of Saint Teresa of Ávila's Interior Castle!
Embark on a spiritual journey through St. Teresa of Ávila's The Interior Castle. Discover the seven mansions of the soul as illuminated by this renowned sixteenth-century Spanish mystic. Our eight-week study will explore the path to union with God within the Carmelite tradition rooted in the spirituality of St. Elijah (9th century BC) and guided by the Rule of St. Albert of Vercelli (1149-1214). This tradition was reformed by Saints Teresa of Jesus (1515-1582) and John of the Cross (1542-1591) and has been exemplified in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries by Saints Thérèse of Lisieux (1873-1897), Elizabeth of the Trinity (1880-1906), and Teresa Benedicta of the Cross/Edith Stein (1891-1942). Join us as we celebrate this rich spiritual heritage that has inspired the poetic masterworks of Sister Jessica Powers (1905-1988) and “Ruth Burrows”/Sister Rachel Gregory (1923-2023).
