parent involvement
At St. John the Evangelist, our mission statement includes "in partnership with families" because we believe that our community and our students thrive when parents partner with us. There are several opportunities for our parents to get involved.
Communication
- Weekly emailed newsletter sent to parents, and a folder sent home with additional information
- Classrooms have folders or binders that are sent home daily or weekly, with teacher/grade level specific information or completed work
- Teachers available by email or Class Dojo, or by calling the school office
- Conferences twice per year. Additional may be scheduled as needed
Volunteer Opportunities
- Lunch room and recess supervisors
- Field trip chaperones (when indicated on permission slip)
- Home and School Committee: Join the committee that plans all of the family events held throughout the school year, as well as fundraisers.
- School Advisory Commission
- Athletics Coaching
- Volunteering for service at fish fry's, annual craft far, annual festival, athletics concessions, athletics coaching
Attend School Events!
Join us at our community events for our school families: Trunk or Treat, Grandparents Day, Muffins with Mom, Paczki with Pop, Fun Run and Tail Gate, School Family Dance, and more!
All parent volunteers within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee must be Safe Environment Certified before they may volunteer at a school or school event. This applies to field trip chaperones, lunch and recess supervisors, athletics coaches, etc. Click the button above to begin the Safe Environment training process. Call the school office if you have any questions.
