St. John the Evangelist offers Children's Choir for students in grades 3 through 8.
The children's choir meets each Tuesday from 2:45 to 3:45.
The choir sings for the all-school liturgies each week and once a month at the 9:30 Sunday Mass and for First Holy Communion, Christmas Eve, and Easter.
The children learn choral skills and they participate in the parish community in a spiritual and encouraging way.

The Student Council Program provides the opportunity for students in grades four through eight to foster leadership qualities. The Student Council allows the members to become active participants in planning student activities, especially Catholic Schools Week events, prayer services, mission collections, and service projects that involve the student body. The Student Council also provides a channel for increasing school spirit, student morale, pride and input.
Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 may choose to participate in our forensics club. At this weekly after school activity , students prepare and rehearse public speaking pieces in a wide variety of genres. They then participate in meets with students from other area schools. The goal of our forensics club is to provide students with the opportunity to gain poise and comfort in a variety of public speaking situations, preparing them for success in high school and beyond.
Cub Scouting & Boy Scouting
Cub Scouting is a program for boys and their families that emphasizes learning, group activities, mental skills, and independence. Boys are motivated by the scout motto, "Do Your Best". Cub Scouting is open to boys in the first through fifth grade. Activities include den meetings, monthly pack meetings, summer camps, Safe Halloween, a Christmas party, the Blue and Gold Dinner, Pinewood Derby, and scouting nights with the Milwaukee Bucks, Admirals, and Wave. There are also several service projects including Scouting for Food, flag placement on Memorial Day, and festival cleanup.
Cub Scouts in 5th grade cross over to Boy Scouts in February. The Boy Scout Troop is sponsored by King of Glory Church across the street from St. John's. While most boys come into Boy Scouts from Cub Scouts, that is not a prerequisite.
Girl Scouting is growing strong at St. John the Evangelist! There are currently over 50 girl scouts at our school, spanning from kindergarten through fifth grade. Troop levels currently include Daisies, Brownies, and Junior Scouts. The girls enjoy being together while they work on badges, make art projects, and participate in field trips-all while they expand their horizons and learn about the world of possibilities waiting for them!
As Benjamin Franklin put it, "Several very valuable qualities of the mind are to be acquired and strengthened" by the game of chess. The chess club meets weekly after school. Students are given instruction as needed, and are invited to participate in local tournaments throughout the school year.
